Levi Byler Yoder
Levi Byler Yoder (1852-1928 was born in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, on October 16, 1852, and died in Clarence Center, New York, June 26, 1928. He and his wife, Elizabeth Hartzler, had 10 children, two of whom died young. Our great-grandfather Levi traveled extensively visiting 20 states in his lifetime. After visiting Texas, Oregon, and other states, he chose North Dakota as the destination for a group of 5 families to buy or homestead land on the prairie. His father was Bishop Samuel Yoder (1824-1884) and his mother was Elizabeth Byler (1830-1912).
