What fun it is to connect with cousins near and far through the web site. We have heard from Glick, Mast, and Roth cousins. Thanks, cousin Darrel, for helping us name the folks in the old Joe Mast pictures and to make those Pennsylvania to Montana connections. Thanks, cousin Ervie for an update on the North Dakota Glicks. When you start investigating the Freundschaft, connections are everywhere. Both cousins Ernie and Darrel know the same people in North Dakota but don't know each other.

A special thanks to cousin Cal for sending the collection of photos from Grandma's black box with the cardboard flowers on it. I was thrilled to see the one posted below that showed Grandpa (Bishop Isaac S. Mast) and Grandma (Fannie Yoder) smiling instead of their often stern expressions that they reserved  for photographs. These are the precious faces we cousins remember.

Census records provide interesting information through the decades. We have posted our grandfather Isaac S. Mast's records. The records show where he lived, others in his household, and how he earned his living. Grandpa lived with his grandparents after his mother died and later he lived with his sister. The records show his North Dakota homes and neighbors.

Our January goal is to continue posting diaries, letters, charts, and census records of our ancestors.
